The City of Faith operates under a Home Rule Charter that was adopted by the citizens of Faith by a majority vote on November 6, 2001.
Faith is divided into 3 Wards. The 7 member Council consists of the Mayor, one Council Member from each of the three wards, and three Council Members "At-Large" (from any ward). All elected to a two-year term. The terms are staggered so that the "At-Large" seats are voted upon one year, with the Mayor and the 3 Ward seats elected the following year.
The Mayor presides over all council meetings and retains the power of veto, however, the Mayor may vote but ONLY in the event of a tie. The Mayor appoints all City Officials subject to Council approval and appoints members to various committees.
